WORDLESS WEDNESDAY
INGREDIENT SUBSTITUTIONS

If you are like me, you have probably found yourself in the middle of making a recipe only to find that you are missing some key ingredient. There's nothing more frustrating, especially if the recipe calls for precise timing and running to the store just isn't an option. Now sometimes you can simply leave an ingredient out, but that's not always the case.

Here is a fabulous list of ingredient substitutions from North Dakota's College of Agriculture, Food Systems, & Natural Resources.

Shoes?

I went out looking for new shoes this weekend and came across this unusual shoe. I had to stop and check it out and the clerk came over and asked if I would like to buy a pair. Well...I was ROFL and the clerk was too. Now these may be really good shoes but I just don't think these were made for my feet. ROFL!!!

DOLPHIN BUBBLES

Container gardening is very popular. I want to share a link to a video on Garden Smart about building a pond in a pot. Also, if your mom gardens, you can find great gift ideas for her in the Mother's Day Gift Guide.
Growing Tomatoes Upside Down?

I know you've seen the commercials on TV about the "Topsy Turvy" tomatoes. Well, I decided to see what all the fuss was about. I didn't purchase the one on TV...I found a different kind and then learned how I could make my own. This is also a great idea for people who don't have the room for a garden but still want to have some fresh vegetables. I've been told that you can also grow several other vegetables in this manner. Haven't tried that yet but may have to next year. I'll see how the tomatoes do first.

Oh...BTW....I planted cherry tomatoes in the top of mine.

If you are interested in getting more information on growing Topsy Turvy vegetables check out this article. I'd love to hear from those of you that have done this before to see how it worked.
